Broadly, my interests fall within the domain of comparative psychology/evolutionary anthropology, focusing on the social and cognitive abilities of human and nonhuman primates. In particular, my research has concerned primate traditions and chimpanzee innovation, the social transmission of behavior, social learning strategies and cumulative culture, all with a view of understanding the evolution of culture. Currently, as a postdoctoral fellow working with Dr Sarah Brosnan, my focus is broadening to the study of the evolution of social decision making behavior, and in particular how primates make decisions in cooperative and competitive contexts.
