Research Interests: problem solving, decision making, cognitive flexibility, comparative cognition (especially in reptiles)
I am a Ph.D. student and Primate Social Cognition, Evolution, and Behavior 2CI fellow working under Dr. Sarah Brosnan in Georgia State University’s Cognitive Sciences program. I am interested in studying problem solving and decision making between individuals, social groups, and species. In addition, I am interested in researching decision making and cognitive flexibility as it specifically relates to reptilian species.
Prior to Georgia State University, I received my B.S. in Biology and B.S. in Environmental Science from Cleveland State University in 2022 where I conducted research under Dr. Michael Walton on Red-Backed salamander resource usage. I assessed forest floor animal interactions along with predicting possible shifts in these interactions due to micro-climate change. Additionally, under the supervision of Ph.D. candidate Kaylin Tennant (primary advisor Dr. Pam Davis), I collected Western Lowland Gorilla baseline behavior data to assess for the currency of stress indicating aberrant behaviors, along with developmental indicators of an infant gorilla at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo.
